Shankh Prakshalana is a yogic kriya (cleansing process) that involves drinking salted lukewarm water and performing specific asanas to flush the entire digestive tract. It mimics the natural flow of a conch shell (shankh), cleansing the stomach, intestines, and colon.


How to Perform Shankh Prakshalana

1. Prepare the Solution – Mix 1 teaspoon of rock salt in 1 liter of warm water.

2. Drink & Move – Drink 2 glasses of the solution and perform 5 yoga poses (Tadasana, Tiryaka Tadasana, Kati Chakrasana, Udarakarshanasana, Bhujangasana).

3. Repeat the Process – Continue drinking and moving until you feel the urge to eliminate.

4. Complete the Cleansing – Keep drinking and eliminating until the water runs clear.

5. Rest & Replenish – After the process, eat a simple meal of khichdi (rice and lentils) with ghee to soothe digestion.
